Released from possessions & ambitions to be called & be free

Call To Worship
Leader: Help us Lord to let go,

People: to release what we hold too close, to embrace what we hold too distant,
All: that we might watch and wait with pure hearts, open minds, gentle hands and soaring spirits
For the redemption that has been proclaimed to all the world, and also for us.

Hymn: STS39 Will you come and follow me?
Prayer and offering
Hymn: H229
Lord, you have come to the lakeshore

Congregational Reflections on Scripture and Story
         Prayer:
                 Capturing, releasing Lord,
You ask us to push off into deep water and let down our nets for the catch.
Take our reluctance in your stride and guide us to whatever letting go
will show us how much our hearts can hold when our hands our empty.

In company with Jesus we pray:
Our Mother and Father, let be made holy your name.
                 Let come your kingdom.
Our bread, our everyday bread, keep on giving us, today.
And release for us our sins, as we also release anyone obligated to us.
And do not bring us into testing. Amen. (translation by Mary Schertz)

Song: All we need is in our hands, all we need for God to love us.
All we need is in our hands, there is nothing in our hands.

SHARING TIME

HYMN OF SENDING/BENEDICTION
STS57 Go, my friends, in grace

Other verses to "All we need is in our hands" by James Clemens

All we need is in our hands,
all we need to welcome Jesus.
All we need is in our hands,
broken bread is in our hands.

All we need is in our hands,
all we need to serve our neighbors.
All we need is in our hands,
strength to serve is in our hands.
